Art Outside

The last stop the class made while I traveled with them was Tokyo.

I’d been there before, so everything seemed very familiar and similar to me.  Of course, by this time I’d been in Japan for over a week as well, so Japanese life was getting pretty normal in a way.   Our hotel was very close to the Shingawa  Station.  It was an older hotel, and while the exteriors and lobby looked nice, the rooms left a bit to be desired.  They were easily the worst rooms we’d stayed in during our trip thus far. saw my first semi-major accident today.  a motorbike ran into the side of a taxi-van and fell.  I was on a motorbike taxi not too far behind, and watched the whole thing happen less than 30 feet ahead of me. Read the rest of this entry »

Dirty french man sitting next to me.  Stinks of not bathing for days.  I enjoy my stink as much as the next guy, but i do my best to not subject many others with it.  5 feet away i can smell him.  His coffee arrives.  He lights up a smoke, where it assaults my senses even more. After a few days in Saigon, I returned to Hoa Sen University one last time to give them copies of the photographs I’d taken for their conference.  I took a taxi to them and decided it wasn’t a long walk back, so I’d try to return on foot. Read the rest of this entry »
